In this tutorial, I will show you how to change banner image (as seen in the below screenshot) in your Joomla 3.x website.

The image in the header, is not hard coded into the template. It is simply a custom HTML module that shows the image, that is placed in position-3.

 

Step 1 : Log into your Joomla 3.x administrator dashboard.
  • Administrator dashboard can be visited by adding /administrator to your domain name.
  • for example http://www.prixsol.com/administrator,
  • here www.prixsol.com is the domain name.
Step 2 : In the top menu, click Extensions and then click Module Manager
Step 3 : Find and click on the Image module. By default, it is in position-3 and is a Custom HTML module.
Step 4 :  In the content area editor you can see there is already an image; click image then image button to display media manager.
Step 5 :  When media manager show up select folder headers.

Step 6 :  The headers folder contains many images that can be used; in this tutorial select maple.jpg and then click insert.

OR

Scroll down to the bottom of the media manager and upload a new image that can be and online image link or image form your local hard disk.

Step 7 :  As you can see new image is replaced in editor with old one; click save and close.

After saving, when you visit your website again, you should see the new header image appear (as in the screenshot below)
